Check the schedule to see if the Houston Astros have a game. So, if you are in the city, then do not miss out on a match. If you follow American Baseball, then you know that Houston is a hotspot for the sports. This is a great option for both adults and children who have a knack to know about history. People should definitely book the tickets in advance to get assured seats. Guided tours also take place to show it to the completion. The planetarium and the theatre also remain open along with the museum. But at times it does remain open till 9 PM where people may explore it to the totality. The museum generally remains open till 5 PM. It is a place that children love because of the beautiful exhibits that the museum houses. It was a fun night – always good to get out and walk and shoot a little. Buffalo Bayou's waters are perfectly still, and fading clouds make for a beautiful end of the day.įrom just above Buffalo Bayou, this black and white aerial looks down on Carruth Pedestrian Bridge, the winding waterway, and to the high rises of downtown Houston on a cold winter evening. In the distance, the downtown Houston skyscrapers seemed to climb into the clouds. Adding to the overall scene, the setting sun in the west turned the clouds in the east nice shades of pink and blue. I love the way the bridge crosses the water, and on this evening the water was perfectly calm. After walking a ways and looking around for a good location, I finally settled on an area around the Carruth Pedestrian Bridge. Nevertheless, being in Houston, I wanted to take advantage of the situation, so I headed downtown to Eleanor Tinsley Park along Buffalo Bayou. For someone used to driving on country roads where the biggest traffic boondoggle is the carpool line at the local elementary and middle schools, city traffic is not my jam. My friends that live there say they avoid the downtown area and stick to their neighborhoods north and west of the mayhem. Still, sometimes these scenes can be taken in black and white and look quite striking, especially if the clouds cooperate.įirst, I have to pause and say Houston traffic is pretty terrible. I don’t seek out locations much in the winter months because the grass is usually brown and the trees bare. Last week I was in Houston and took the opportunity to photograph a little of the Houston skyline one cold evening. ![]()
